Red Star Express enjoyed the opportunity to make its debut appearance in Chilton on July 31, 2003 with a concert in the park. Instead of the traditional applause, carbound listeners rewarded the Express with kudos by honking their horns. Fiddler Sue Woodward commented, "It was like playing a drive-in movie crowd."
